At the end of September 2025, the existing gas heating system for the buildings at Gewerbering 30 and 32 in Wohlen was replaced with a modern heat pump system. A total of six heat pumps have been operating in tandem ever since, achieving a maximum thermal heating capacity of 72 kW. The units were installed in a space-saving configuration on a specially constructed grating platform above the passageway between the two buildings.
Initial evaluations (Q3 2025 to Q1 2026) demonstrate the high efficiency of the new heating solution: With an average coefficient of performance (COP) of 3, approximately two-thirds of the heat generated comes from the environment. During this period, about 47 MWh of electrical energy was consumed, approximately 93 MWh of environmental energy was utilized, and a total of about 134 MWh of heat was generated.
In November and December 2025, a photovoltaic system with a capacity of approximately 110 kW was also installed on the roof of Gewerbering 30 in Wohlen. The system has been reliably producing solar power since the end of December 2025. Energy production developed very positively in the first months of 2026:
-January 2026: 2.05 MWh
-February 2026: 4.07 MWh
-March 2026: 9.70 MWh
The system’s peak output to date was around 75 kW at the end of March and beginning of April.
