Our titanium powders are made of pure titanium.
They are sold as sponge powders which refers to the production process of these powders. There, the chemical reaction of a titanium salt under elevated temperature yields raw titanium sponge blocks that looks very similar to a sponge with its many holes and pores. This material is then further processed into the non-spherical titanium powder which Medicoat AG provides and uses itself in plasma coating processes.
Medipure® titanium powders meet all requirements of ASTM 1580 Grade 4 in oxygen and hydrogen content. For iron and chloride the maximum allowed concentrations are below the requirements of the standard. If you want to learn more, contact us!
